Attendance is Part of Your Grade

In order to encourage everyone to show up on time, attendance will now count for your winter drumline academic grade. This grade will show up on your report card and count on your GPA.

  • 10 points will be given for every rehearsal.
  • If you are late, you will only receive 5 points.
  • Competitions will also be a major part of your grade. If you miss a competition, you will fail the class.

Please realize, Andy and I aren't trying to be jerks and we don't want anyone to be dissatisfyed with their grade, and we aren't mad at anyone personally. This is just one of the things we are doing to step everything up to the next level. If everyone will show up on time we will get a lot more done every morning, and our show will be that much better for Fresno and all the competitions afterward. Please show dedication, responsibility, and respect for each other by showing up on time and we will all be that much better off.

Congratulations on 1st Place

Well, great job on Saturday everyone. We performed well and cut down on the choking. But remember, we go to California this week, and we still have a long way to go. Let's really pick it up this week and get our show down solid so that we can do well on Friday and Saturday. Remember, we are in A-Class for WGI and most of those lines will have like 3 snares—my point is that if we step up and play our best, we can really stand out to the judges and do well.

There is a large amount of information on the WGI website about the competition on Saturday. Visit the Fresno competition website and be sure to look at the information packet to get an idea of how everything will work. Here is a picture of the gym we will perform in on Saturday:

Remember that we are going to two competitions: a local circuit on Friday and WGI regionals on Saturday. Check back soon for more information. Most of all, realize the great potential we have to drop some jaws if we step it up this week.
