Weber Review

Monday, October 16, 2006

Oh remember...

Now is the time, my fellow peeps.

We've lost a lot of what drumline really is. We haven't had a big DL party in months and months. There isn't a current DL accent ("boh"). There's not enough singing on the busses. There's too much sense and intelligence in our daily dealings with man. Not enough Beto's runs, too few midnight excursions through the ceilings, no wardrobe collaborations, and not even any arrogant stunts at competition or practice. Worst of all we are fogetting our precious DL lore! If we forget the history, carnies will become regular men, brazilians will become extinct, IDS will dissolve, and, in the end, bohjangles will leave this world and smite it with an odious curse. Without the magical things of this world, the planet's balance will be forever shaken, and life as we know it will cease.

We cannot allow this! There is still hope. There is still a chance to avert this bleak and austere future. REMEMBER. Study our history. Open your feelings and rediscover what you know to be true. The children of the drumline (Cruchy, Tori, Mr. Tom, Spanky, and any members of pit with their eye on battery) must be taught their heritage!

Read the lore, Remember....

Website Updates!

Hello! So, I've finally gotten around to updating the drumline website! Head over and check out new videos of performances and In-the-lot footage. Also, be sure to watch some new funny videos in the members section. Also, if you are new to the drumline or pit, or you haven't updated your bio in a while, please do so. Oh, I also updated Andy's bio, so check it out. Well, you can expect more from the website soon, so keep checking back.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Wrong Attitude!

First off, this honestly sucks. Everybody agrees that there's a problem here right? Now let's discuss what the problem is and how we should go about fixing it.

We do Drumline for a few reasons: to get better at drumming, to learn how to work with other people, to compete, and (as a side bonus) make a few really cool friends. Please notice that the following are not on that list: for a boy/girlfriend, to "hang out" from 7-10 3 days a week, to compete against each other, or to make enemies.

Andy would like a large battery, but if it comes down to it, there's no problem with cutting people.

Please have complete focus on Drumline when you're at Drumline. We can be friends and hang out and have fun but nothing that happens should effect how we play. We have a ton of potential and that has really showed for these past two years. I would like these great seasons to continue and that will require all of our focus. I don't think that girls are the problem here; it's more about mixed up priorities. If you are on the battery, you will work. If not, don't count on everything going all that smoothly for you.

When everyone takes the work we do seriously, this will end up as one of the most fun things you've ever done (plus, it's pretty cool to win). Please please please please please do not take offence at anything I said, I honestly don't want to hurt anybody. We all need to shape up a bit all right?

Love,
Fluke ;)
